At TrueHome the role grew from Tech Lead to Principal Engineer. Tech leads reported to me across an organization of 40 in-house and 20 contractors.
Leads needed context that SCRUM alone did not carry.
I introduced PRD and TRD, hired 10 people, and approved the 20 contractors. The goal was to make leads decide well, not wait for me.
